This picture says it all !

  Can't go without giving out a "Shout Out" to our Savior for dying for our sins.  No matter what your religion, this is the time to give the Praise where the Praise is due - EVERYDAY!

God bless us all.

" 8) Then they remembered his words

 

In my opinion, this picture says it all.

 

They can take his name off money, remove honoring him in schools but they cannot take him from my heart!  In God I trust.

Put your cell phone on the DO NOT CALL List - Keep your sanity!

YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS - they eat up your minutes and your time and your nerves!

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:         888-382-1222

It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years.  You must call from the cell phone number you want to block.

You can also go on line @ DONOTCALL.GOV

 

** According to the instructions: It takes about 31 days for this to take effect due to the rules of when the telemarketers have to check and re-check the list.  If it does not work after a 31 day cycle, please log a complaint.  Go to the website to see how to follow up on those that are not obeying the rules.

Try to get your property re-assessed - could save you some money!

 I recently posted a suggestion of checking with your county property tax assessor to see what they are doing or planning on doing about the low drop in property value vs the high property tax bill the homeowners of San Joaquin County are getting. To see if they are going to reduce the property taxes to match the decline in property value.  I am happy to report that San Joaquin County is doing something to help out the homeowners of San Joaquin County -- this especially will help out the homeowners of Stockton, CA.  Stockton has one of the highest decline in property value during this foreclosure crisis.  Ground Zero.... the Foreclosure Capital of America! Stockton, CA

 I first emailed the San Joaquin County Assessor and asked if they are re-assessing properties to bring down their tax obligation and /or if people want to request it how would they go about making that request.  They said all you have to do is put it in writing that you want your property re-assessed and your request will be added to the properties that will be re-evaluated or assessed (to the pile!).  They also said that they are doing a re-assessment as they get a new sold property.  Asking for yourself will probably work faster for your property to be re-assessed. Get the savings now before the market make that turn back upward. Housing market is down .... Lets see about lowering your property taxes!

 

I recently sent a follow-up letter to see how all that re-assessing is going and this is the reply that I received:

This office is very proactive and we are aware of the decline of property values.  Last year we reduced values  on over 20,000 properties and we expect a reduction on at least 40,000 this year.  Those property owners will receive a notice no later than the first part of July telling them of their adjusted value.  Anyone disagreeing with the value or anyone who did not receive a notice and feels their value should have been reduced should then contact our office.   Debbie Wilson  Chief of Standards  San Joaquin County Assessor

Try this in your county to help advise the homeowners how they may be able to help them out by getting their property taxes reduced as soon as possible and before it is too late and the prices are back up.

Affordability - and What is Rock-Bottom?

 

Rock-bottom, what does it mean?  Where does Stockton, CA fit into affordability? Well, I can tell you some good news.  Stockton is not #1 on the least Affordability List, but on the other hand it is not on the #1 Affordable list either.  I was actually somewhat surprised (and Happy) to find out that we are somewhere in the middle of the Least Affordable place to live ~ since we held the #1 position on the worst foreclosure record in America.  God Bless America!

So I want take this time to say right on Stockton, CA - Hold your own.  One day this too shall past and we will be on the right side of Affordability and our Foreclosures will decrease in numbers that will get us another headline ~ to read something like: "Stockton, CA Recovers from the Foreclosure virus!"  Hopefully, this will happen in early 2008, so we'd better a movin'.

  One thing about rock-bottom... the only way out is UP!
